One of the most gratifying things about opening our shop has been getting to know so many wonderful people! As we have developed relationships, a number of our customers have given us patches from their workplaces. As we placed the last one in the file with our growing collection, it hit us—let's make a shadow box display with them for our new shop!

When we opened a couple years back, we kinda' figured we'd do alright. There are very few local gunsmiths—this is Illinois, after all—and Jeffrey is a good one. But if we had to sum up the past two years in one sentence, it would be, "Wildly successful beyond all expectation." We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that, and every day we work hard to be worthy of such trust and loyalty! As the map shows, we've been getting work from every corner of the US...
Ok, we're kinda proud of ourselves on these. We've developed a process to Cerakote scopes with the heat-cured H Series formula, even high end ones like the Leupold VX-6HD with Firedot in the back here. Update 2019: We're working on more cool scope stuff to post, but a few have asked if we still do these. Ha! This little blog post got indexed by Google and we were off to the races! Hundreds now. Leupold, Zeiss, Swarovski, Sig Sauer BDX, Nikon, Nightforce, Vortex & Burris. Made to match not only Browning X-Bolt, but the Ruger American Go Wild, Christensen Arms Mesa and Ridgeline, and Weatherby Vanguard. Then we went to town with a custom Cerakote job. The frame is subtly patterned with Copper Brown and Federal Brown, overlaid with light touches of Robin's Egg Blue.
This tough guy got his stripes last month (sorry, just love puns--it's a personal flaw.) The owner wanted to keep his gorgeous wood grips, so we did a custom mix on the Burnt Bronze base coat to pick up the lightest striations in the wood. Stripes are a Graphite Black/Burnt Bronze custom mix. We surprised him with a matching stainless can cooler, which we're sure he will only use for soft drinks while shooting :) See more recent work...
Now that we have almost two years under our belt, we're in better touch with both our customers needs and the pulse of our industry. With these greater understandings, we've revamped our online store pricing structure.
Ok, we'll admit we were pretty excited to make our first entry into Manhattan's informal "Scarecrow Parade." Our hunter's dog looks suspiciously like our own German Wirehaired Pointer, Reba. It came as suprise, though, when
Above: After. Below: Before. This Remington 870, 12 gauge, was a favorite deer hunting shotgun. A simple furniture change produced dramatic results.
