.38 cal. Rimfire, Nickel with Ivory Grips $599 A late 1800's gentleman's choice for concealed carry! This example is in a remarkable 85% condition for it's age, and the only one we have found on the market with original ivory grips. The exterior nickel finish is above 90%, but the interior working parts of the cylander and barrel exhibit light pitting. The original ivory grips are complete with no chipping, but there are a few small stress cracks and some yellowing on one side. Cited production numbers vary widely between 8,000 and 23,000 but this is a much rarer find for sale than it's predecessors, so we believe the lower numbers to be more accurate. The gun is complete, and all parts function normally. Although we have not fired it, we expect that it would. This is a beauty in person; we've purposely selected photos that highlight blemishes for clarity. Overall, this Remington collectors piece is in rare Excellent (80% or better) condition, but not so pure that you would hesitate to take it to the range if you can find ammo for it. The best of both worlds for any collector!
