Leupold Scopes in H-Series Burnt Bronze Cerakote (Now in Smoked Bronze too!)

Ok, we're kinda proud of ourselves on these. We've developed a process to Cerakote scopes with the heat-cured H Series formula, even high end ones like the Leupold VX-6HD with Firedot in the back here.

Update 2022: A few have asked if we still do these. Ha! This little blog post got indexed by Google and we were off to the races! Literally thousands now—any scope, any color. Leupold, Zeiss, Swarovski, Sig Sauer BDX, Steiner, Nightforce, Vortex, Burris & more. Made to match not only Browning X-Bolt, but the Ruger American Go Wild, Christensen Arms Mesa and Ridgeline, Weatherby Vanguard & more. The batch above just left for a large Michigan retailer, who is making Browning XBolt Pro packages as seen at SHOT Show 2017. (And honestly, we're a little disappointed that whoever did Browning's didn't coat the screws on the mounting rings. But we digress....)

Our first challenge was the numbers on the power dial, and the line they meet for adjusting on the eyepiece itself. They are laser etched, and would be very faint after coating. Solution: We hand engraved the numbers and lines/arrows.

After engraving, the scope is carefully prepared to protect the signature gold ring and optics. We do our thing, and viola, one Burnt Bronze scope is born. Rinse, Repeat.

We're really pleased with how these have come out finished, and are looking forward to our next adventure!

Can the Browning X-Bolt Pro Long Range be chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum?

Also, can it be fitted with an octagon barrel? I know the stock would have to be modified.

Hi Tom! The cost to Cerakote is $65. Most scopes also need to have the eyepiece rings engraved so the numbers/markings remain visible. The cost for that is $25. We can alternatively tape that off and leave it black if you prefer. Thanks for the inquiry:)

Can you also match the bronze Ridgeline? I have one of our SCI 2020 rifles of the year and I think it would be really cool to add a matching V6 HD and rings to top it off

This would be in a online raffle and we could add your logo and website to the site.

We Cerakote scopes to order, and do not keep coated ones in stock since there such a wide range of them. We can certainly quite you on any scope you have in mind, and most brands. We have so far worked on Leupold, Nikon and Swarovski scopes, but I think we can do any brand. I just received my cerakoted Leupold scope to match my hells canyon 300. wm and boy does it look awesome on the rifle. Gibbs done a great job on the cerakote job, it looks great. I haven't purchased one for my 6.5 heels canyon. Looking at Virtex Viper. Vortex said if I cerakote to put the rings on before coating as they indicated rings would not fit correctly after coating. I have never heard of this before.

Amazing work, and thanks sharing this information. Quick question, if I send in my Leupold VX-6HD to have it match the barrel of my Hells Cayon XBolt, is it possible to have my rugged ridge extreme bipod and picatinny rail mount coated with Cerakote to match the stock, and if not possible for the stock, to have it matched to the scoop / barrel (burnt copper)?

We cannot speak for Leupold, but they have told us it does not as long as it is not damaged in coating. Call 1-800-leupold for confirmation from the manufacturer. Thanks!

Leupold has custom colors available in dark earth and covert brown, do either of those colors match the burnt bronze on the Hells Canyon? I've aske Leuold and they said ask Browning, Browning said ask Leupold. So I just found your website and I'm guessing that if they matched there wouldn't be much to talk about here.

It looks like there is a lot going on with it, so we couldn't tell you until we see it exactly what will be taped off and what can be coated. Vortex told me if I have Viper HS cerakoted to match my zbrowning he'll canyon that I must leave the rings on the scope as the coating will make it so the rings won't fit.

Mike, I have heard this question a few times now, and I am not really sure where it comes from. We have coated hundreds of scopes, most Leupold, but many others including Vortex. We have never heard of this issue from anyone, and we have mounted many of them ourselves with no difficulty. Cerakote was specifically designed to be at least as durable as powder coating while remaining ultra thin for firearms and their tight tolerances. I will check back with our Vortex customers and try Vortex themselves to see if I can find out more, but as far as we know, this is not an issue.

Sam, we are happy to do the CDS dials. We tape off the number dial so that remains black with white markings. Basically we are Cerakoting the top. Hope that helps!

I have a Ruger American Go Wild with a Bronze cerakote on the barrel and receiver. It is close to the Hells Canyon, but not exactly. Do you by any chance try to color match, or do you have a premade formula?

I have recently purchased a Browning rifle new in the box. The gun came with a Burnt Bronze Cerakote Finish throughout. I would like to have the bolt fluted and Cerakote finished with the same color of the rifle. I also would like to send you the scope I am mounting on this rifle to finish it the same way.

What is the price per item and what is the current turnaround time in case you can do both, bolt and scope?
