We will still be processing direct orders (in person or online) for firearms purchases directly from Gibbs Custom Gunsmithing. The dramatic increase in regulations & requirements from both federal & state agencies in the past few years, coupled with the continual and ongoing changes based on court rulings for a myriad of state and federal lawsuits, along with the lack of definition of State of Illinois regulations, have created an untenable climate for a small shop. It has become virtually a full time job to keep up with the current regulations, and to document that each transfer complied with those in effect at the time of transfer. We have hit the point where we must decide whether to triple our transfer fees to cover the cost of the labor now required, or to discontinue them entirely. As our focus always has been, and remains, gunsmithing & Cerakote, we have opted to focus our energies on our core services. We regret the loss of resources for our customers’ 2nd Amendment rights, but we encourage them to take it to the voting booth. We remain available to you for purchases, gunsmithing & Cerakote.
