When we opened a couple years back, we kinda' figured we'd do alright. There are very few local gunsmiths—this is Illinois, after all—and Jeffrey is a good one. But if we had to sum up the past two years in one sentence, it would be, "Wildly successful beyond all expectation." We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that, and every day we work hard to be worthy of such trust and loyalty! As the map shows, we've been getting work from every corner of the US...
While Cerakote makes up the bulk of our out-of-town work, our bread-and-butter remains serving our neighbors gunsmith needs. We work tirelessly to add services, improve existing ones and reduce turnaround times while remaining that friendly local shop folks like to stop in and tell a few fish stories. We love that.
So to give everyone, us included, a little more elbow room, we'll be adding a nice chunk of floor space to what we have now in the building. Four times the space, in fact. More gunsmith benches, separate machine shop, dedicated spray booth and double Cerakote ovens are planned. Woo hoo! There's lots more, but that is a separate blog post. Hoping to be in the new space by July, but there are a lot of moving parts to the move so we'll see.
We are putting the finishing touches on our Apprenticeship Program as this is written, and will be offering a 4 year Dept. of Labor certified apprenticeship to the right candidate. It works like a union program, with structured raises each year and a classroom component in addition to on-the-job training. We're excited to bring in a new team member, and to help continue the craft for our next generation.
With our new enhanced licensing, we are also working on some exclusive new GCG offerings as we have a little time. We're hoping to bring out a couple new products in May. Stay tuned for that; no hints :)
That hits the highlights, folks. We thought you'd like to know, and thank you again sincerely for all of your support.
